A Musical Party

Sonja, GG, Dad and I attempted to give Mom a themed birthday party. We chose music for our theme since she is really into her music cruises and following the bands around the metroplex.  We really had a great time putting everything together and I think she was very surprised and liked all our details.

Here is the kids' table

We had BBQ catered for dinner and then cake and ice cream, followed by presents.

We got her a canvas photo of the whole family.

Happy Birthday, Mom!!

Our first week of summer

Since I had training for a full week after school was out we haven't really had a chance to enjoy summer. So this was our first real week of summer and we tried to pack it full!!

We started the week at the zoo.

Next, we visited a splash park.

Then, to the movies.

We almost had the whole theater to ourselves.

And lastly, we went swimming at Tanna's with Laura.

It has been a busy week, but I have thoroughly enjoyed all the fun things summer brings along!

Father's Day

We had a great Father's Day! My dad and aunt came down to go fishing at Richard's parents' house, so we were able to celebrate three great dads!!

There was lots of fishing and I think everyone caught something.

Teague got a few casting lessons from PaPa so he was able to get his hook into the water instead of the grass. Before casting, he would shout "watch out, here comes Mr. Teague".

We decided Sonja got the award for smallest fish caught.

And Richard got the award for the largest. We thought his line was hung on the bottom until it jerked. His dad had to grab the net to help pull it out!!

After fishing, Dad and Sonja got the Hollingsworth Tour by gator.

And we finished up the evening with homemade ice cream and gifts.

It was a great afternoon spent with three great dad who are great examples of giving generously and loving unconditionally!! We are all blessed to have them in our lives!

Proud Baseball Mom

Troy has really gotten into baseball this year! Last year he liked it okay, but this year he is really enjoying it and he is really proving to be pretty good at it. Monday night he hit a grand slam that had us all cheering!!

And then on Thursday he hit two home runs!!

After that game he was awarded the game ball. I am so proud of him and I'm enjoying watching him not only succeed in baseball, but also find such joy in playing it!
