Chip Update
Well, after visiting with the Oncologist today, she didn't really give us any more information on Chip. She said he is very young and currently acting like nothing is wrong, but that is because the medicine is working well now. She said eventually the body will grow accustomed to it and we will have to up the dosage and that will be the precedure til the end. She said she has seen dogs live as long as 9 months so who knows how long we have left with him. We are just to make him as comfortable as possible from now on; spoiling him will be easy!!

Gone Fishin'
Daniel took Troy down to San Marcos to go fishing on his day off. Daniel's friend Wacey also met them there from San Antonio. After a morning and a long afternoon of fishing Troy was so tired so they let him lay down in the stroller to nap and, of course, that is when they caught the one fish for the day...and Troy missed it. So they took a picture of it to show Troy later!

7 Months
I had my 28 week check up this morning and I was expecting her to tell me, both me and the baby were big, but she actually said the opposite. Well, about Teague anayways. He is measuring a week small but she said that is normal for them to measure right on or a week bigger or smaller, so no big deal, but I was just sure I was carrying a 10 pound monster already! I now start going every two weeks, so that is exciting because it means we are closer to 40 weeks, but the actual appointments are very uneventrul so that is a bummmer!

Chip Update
On Friday, the vet called and had talked to the Oncologist and didn't sound quite as grim as before. She said the Oncologist said that Chip was very young to have pancreatic cancer and she would want to look at the pancreas to see if she could see a tumor. She also said that is could be one other thing that is treatable, but she would do the ultrasound on his pancreas first to see what those results showed us. Also, she said if it is the pancreatic cancer that she has known dogs to live years with just an adjusted diet and steriods, so that was good news too! We are calling this week to schedule his appt. with the Oncologist so I will update again when we have more information!

Yuck...
After Troy's nap he switches out of a diaper and back into his big boy pants. Today I saw him take his diaper off and say "tt" so I assumed he was off to the potty. He never called for help and then I heard to sound of urine hitting the water, so I thought I better go help him, but he wasn't in the bathroom. Now I am running through the house trying to figure where he is peeing...and there he is in the cat's drinking water. I grabbed the camera and tried to explain we don't do that through my laughter! BOYS!!
Dan's Best Friend
For the last week we have been taking Chip to the vet to see why he has been acting so sluggish and weak and has gained alot of weight, and we finally got some answers. The blood work shows low blood sugar which unfortunately only means one thing, a tumor on the pancreas that is always cancerous and never curable. The vet said this disease is really rare and she has never diagnosed it before in her career. They think he has around 8 months to 2 years left to live, which we are thankful for. We have changed his eating pattern to 5 small meals a day to keep his blood sugar up and we already see a big difference in his energy level. The vet is still running a few tests that were supposed to be back today but she called and said they are sending them to a different lab and they will call on Friday with the results of those tests. We will see what they say then, but for now we are just trying to make Chip as comfortable as possible!

Coming along...
Up until a week ago we had done nothing to prepare for Teague, and now I guess I am in a nesting phase or panic mode because I want things done immediately. We did manage to paint both Troy's and Teague's name and hang them in their rooms, but other than that we are still not ready. The nursery has become a storage room so we have a ton of clutter to clean out of there and store somewhere else on top of getting the nursery back into working order for an infant...I'm not even sure I remember what all that involves. But we have the crib together so if nothing else, Teague will have a place to sleep!
