We had a busy week this week!! Lost of fun activities and a little more of getting out of the house, so that was nice!! I am trying to put new games on the board every week, but I am slowly running out. Sudoko proves to be a bit hard for them, but Richard loves it!
I also had a zoom meeting with my Table Top group. It was so good to see their faces and hear what they have been up to!!
The boys did some work around the house. Troy and Kelby made a new flowerbed and planted some more plants. Kelby detailed all the cars and Koby required the lights in the garage. I think they are learning a lot of new skills during this time at home!
We celebrated Koby’s birthday and we wished my dad a happy birthday from afar!
At the end of the week Woodway planned a Teacher parade. I went to Becca’s beforehand to layout and visit with her for a bit. Then we headed over to the school and drove the parade route! It was so fun to see all the kids and their signs and to wave at them!

Another quarantine birthday
Koby turned 17!! We are still in quarantine so we tried to make it fun by ordering Chuy’s to go and eating outside by the fire and watching the draft. This year he has been doing a lot of work with his lawn mowing business so we got him all sorts of fun things to help him with that and keep his ice chest stocked on those hot days. We also got him a laptop since most of his school is online with dual credit courses. I’m hoping Koby felt honored and loved on his special day even though it was only spent with us!!

Coronavirus week #5
This week we got the news from the Governor that we will not be going back to school this year. Although I am so sad to not see my kids again, I am planning on an end of the year party so we can all say good-bye one last time before they move on the third grade. Texas also decided to slowly start opening things up again. Although it will be a slow progress, at least we are moving in a positive direction. We are still playing lots of games and spending a lot of time at the track on a weekly basis. The boys usually complete one subject a day for school and they do that in the morning. We are in a nice groove now.

Coronavirus week #4
Week #4 was full of activities! I put up a new game on the whiteboard and we have still been playing Family Feud in the evenings.
We started the week with a birthday parade for Ava Dees! The boys had fun honking the air horn and hanging out the windows!
The girls came into town for a few days so we enjoyed some gator rides and fishing at Nana’s house.
The boys did a lot of work around the house...picking up sticks, mowing grass, burning limbs. All the outside time has been nice. Richard even had some friends over for his bonfire.
We ended the week with Easter activities. We had a communion service on Good Friday and then the Easter service on Sunday. This Easter looked different than any other we have experience, but the truth still remains...He has risen. He is in control. He wins!

Coronavirus week #3
This week has been hard because the weather has been rainy and cloudy and cold for most of the week. On Monday, I delivered a goodie bag and a note to each of my students to let them know I’m thinking of them and cheering them on with their home learning. We also learned this week that we will not be going back to school until at least May 4th, so that news was hard to hear.
We did see a little sun on Teague’s birthday so that helped the yard sign and the birthday parade happen perfectly! Other than that we have been trying to get to the track when we can or working out downstairs when we can’t. We have played a few games of Family Feud, which Teague got for his birthday and watched more of the game show network.
Our field has a ton of bluebonnets and Troy found a “whitebonnet”. After some research, we found out it’s an albino bluebonnet. It said they don’t usually return from year to year because it would have to pollinated by another albino bluebonnet, which is pretty rare. So much spiritual implication in all of it!! I love that in a sea of blue it stands out...In this time of fear and chaos, I pray my foundation in Him makes me stand out for others to see. I also thought about how this one albino bluebonnet may never be here again, like this state of quarantine...we may never experience this again in our lifetime. Are we enjoying it, savoring it, learning from it?!? The years will continue to go on and we will come out of this, but I want this time to mark me and my family. I want Him to change us for the better in the midst of it. This moment in time will be gone quickly, but remembered forever.
