5th grade graduation

Teague is done with elementary school!  What a weird year and sad that he wasn’t able to finish the year with all the fun that was planned for the graduating 5th graders. We ended up celebrating him at the lake with a cupcake and a gift. As he gets older and starts middle school I pray he always puts God first and I know having a quiet time will help with that so I got him a daily devotional. Teague is pretty well rounded and goes with the flow so I think he is going to take middle school on in stride. Maybe the nervousness will come in the Fall, but for now he is excited to moving on to junior high!

Teague and AJ have been best buddies through it all and they were so excited to attend their graduation parade together to say good bye to their teachers!

Memorial Day Weekend

We spent the weekend in Granbury with Amber and her boyfriend and his kids. We played on the boat and fished and ate and played games inside when the rains came.

We also celebrated Richard’s birthday, Teague’s 5th grade graduation and Cash’s birthday!

We had a very relaxing weekend and enjoyed having the boat and the jet ski so the kids could try new things! They all tried to wake board and knee board and tube.  I think they enjoyed themselves and now have something to try to get better at!

Coronavirus week #10

Texas seems about back to normal now. This week we were able to go into restaurants and eat together, which was so much fun!

Teague had AJ over for a sleep over and I took them to their 5th grade graduation parade.

And Richard and Amber have been looking at buying a boat for weeks so and they finally found the one, so we went and picked it up so we could take it with us to the lake for Memorial Day weekend!

It has been a wild and crazy 10 weeks, but I am so glad the world is begging to open back up again. Isolation is never good for anyone and you can just feel people are more relaxed and peaceful now that we are able to do some of the normal things we used to do. There were goods and bars about the last 10 weeks, but I pray we all hold on the memories that we were given as we experienced time with family like never before.

Coronavirus week #9

This week was pretty slow. The weekend was rainy so we were pretty lazy and we spent most of the week just doing little things around the house. The boys hung the basketball goal so they have enjoyed playing on that.

Koby was awarded a physics award from school so they stopped by to honor him with some sweet treats and a yard sign.

I went to school and packed up my room for the summer. I’m so sad this is how the year ended and it was hard to pack it all up without any closure.

Richard and I spent one evening at his parents riding around town in their new UTV.

Our garden is starting to produce so we picked fresh cilantro to go on our tacos and fresh basil to go in our watermelon margaritas! Both were yummy!

Coronavirus week #8

This week we spent our time laying grass and playing a new game we got, Tiki Toss. We also headed to the lake on Friday and spent the weekend there just being lazy!

It was also Teacher Appreciation week and Cinco de Mayo so the school surprised us with signs in our yard and we made some margaritas and had some chips and salsa, since we couldn’t go out.

Troy couldn’t take his long hair anymore so he told me to cut it off! He said it feels much better being shorter now.

Lake Weekend

We spent the weekend at the lake and it was so good to get out of town and be around family!  It was a pretty lazy weekend of games and food and relaxation, but I enjoyed every minute of it!

Troy and Kelby thought their battery was charged and jumped in the boat without a paddle or life jackets and after a few minutes they realized they were just floating with the current with a dead battery. Teague has to take the kayak out to give them life jackets and a paddle but they were still unable to paddle it back, so they had to jump in and swim it back to shore.
