My One Word wrap up

Enlarge was given to me back in 2019 and I carried it over into 2020. Two years with so many testimonies surrounding this word yet I feel like I could keep this word forever.

2019 was filled with a new ministry at Crossroads, stepping out to leading a Table Top group, capturing my massive familye all in one place, being a part of a huge kidney testimony and sharing my testimony in big places. I wasn’t sure what else God had in store but I was eager to find out.

2020 came in just as any other year, but quickly spiraled south. By March our nation was in complete lock down due to the coronavirus. Even with the upheaval of our world I felt like this year offered more than what I would have received had it been a “normal” year. In March, I was able to pray over Tanna and her RA and she is now able to exercise and work out again. From the months of March until June we really did adhere to the lockdown guidelines and during that time I spent so much time with the Lord. The knowledge and wisdom I received during those few months has been unmatched in my whole life. I’m so thankful for the time were allowed to just be with Him! In July, we began to act on some things we heard, one of which is the church does not stop, pandemic or not, we are called to be salt and light. So we started moving forward in that word to open our home to Axtell people. By mid August we hosted our first gathering and kept meeting all semester. Each week we would have a different couple of people and we would get to hear their story and background then the next week it would be new people. As much as I want it to look a certain way, I realize these are crazy times and gone is the “church” as we once knew it. Which is a great thing...just hard to navigate next steps.

So after 2 years, we are still moving forward, slowly, and praying for His direction on how to serve Axtell better and bring His kingdom in a mighty way to this community. As much as I wish it were easy, I know the growing and stretching and enlarging don’t come in seasons of ease and it’s in those seasons we most often see the most fruit!

Fishing Trip

With Blake in town Papa decided to take him and Troy on a 3 day fishing trip. They loaded up early Sunday morning and headed for East Texas. I loved seeing all the pictures they sent of the fish they caught throughout their time on the lake.

Troy won the trip with a 4lb 6oz fish!

Christmas Day

The whole gang came for Christmas Day. We did a lot of eating and visiting and once Amber and her crew arrived we opened gifts and let the kids play with all their new toys. It was nice to have Blake home this year and he and Amber’s crew all got to stay the night so that made our time together even longer! I think everyone had a blast and I am always thankful our home has the ability to host so many people!

Christmas Eve

Our traditional night at the Hollingsworth’s house was wonderful. We ate Mexican food, opened gifts, scratched lotto tickets and relaxed. It was a perfect evening!

Miracle Pop Up Bar

Kristiana and I wanted to try the pop up bar in Dichotomy so we made it a double date. It was a very cute concept with festive glasses and drinks and everything was decorated for Christmas. Unfortunately, the service was poor and after moving 3 times we finally were seated at a table. It was definitely an experience that left us with a funny story.

Basketball Season

The boys have all started basketball now!  They are really enjoying the court at the house that Richard built during COVID and that they can now practice whenever they want. It’s fun to watch them all play and see how determined they are to give their best effort every game.

Thanksgiving

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving day at the Hollingsworth’s and the day after at Cliff and Amber’s in Granbury. We also got to see Austyn and Maysen during the break and we celebrated Maysen’s December birthday with her. As always, we ate too much and enjoyed our time with family. Mom and Dad spent Thanksgiving in Puerto Rico with Blake and Heydi but they sent us pictures of their fun day, too.  Even though the government highly recommended we not get together with family this year, I’m glad I was able to see all my loved ones in person!
