This year we took a group of Axtell kids to youth camp. We had the best time and saw 4 kids come to the kingdom of God! They all had so much fun and bonded together over the week. I loved watching them all laugh and play and worship. We are already looking forward to next year!
This year there were several boys that went with us to the Air it Out football camp in Abilene. They had two full days of hard work mentally and physically. They did great working hard and not complaining and giving their best effort. I’m glad they were all able to go and have that experience together so when they start 2 a days they will be able to be leaders in that environment with some of their peers.
It was a raining, wet, cold Memorial Day weekend at the lake. We didn’t get in the water or on the boat, but we made the best of it. We ate and visited and relaxed!
An ending to such a sweet chapter. I packed up my room and closed the door to 8 years with Midway ISD. In the fall, I will be starting out at Axtell ISD. Many prayers and tears went into this decision and although I know the Lord is calling me to our community, saying goodbye is still hard. The kids I taught became my own. The colleagues I worked with became family. Woodway Elementary became home.
Change is never easy, risks are always scary, but obedience is worth it!
Koby did it!! He graduated with multiple scholarships and college credits! He has much to be proud of! His future is bright!
