Our game against Italy started off strong with a touchdown pass to Troy, but several plays later he fell on his arm awkwardly and his elbow dislocated. Daniel and I were able to rush him to the ER where they were able to get him fixed up. The Lord showed us so much favor from beginning to end.
*Richard happened to ask for ibuprofen before we left town so I threw a bottle in my car. As soon as we loaded Troy into the car he asked for pain meds and there they were sitting in the cup holder. The Dr also said that helped a lot in keeping his pain level management the whole night.
* We entered into a packed waiting room and immediately asked for favor to get back quickly and within 10 minutes they called Troy into a room.
* His Dr. contracts out with the Cowboys so he was able to talk football and keep Troy calm and also said he’d seen this injury many times before.
* The Dr. was so wise to the fact that Troy would still want to wear his jersey number, if possible, so he had the nurse cut it off along the seams so it could be sewn back up.
* The injury was clean and an easy fix with very minimal pain.
* The next game is a bye week so that’s just another free week of rest where Troy doesn’t have to stress about missing a game.
Last night was not a surprise to God and He had prepared the way before us. Hopefully the recovery is speedy and the next steps with the orthopedic doctors run just as smooth as the ER did.
