Troy seems to have had a great couple of days at Tech alone. He’s been to the gym several times and he participated in the first day picture for the class of 2029. He has been to .99 cent steak night and worship on lawn. He even made it to all his classes and sent me a picture. I love watching him thrive out there on his own!

Tech move in
It’s finally here! Troy is moving to Lubbock!! He has been packing boxes for weeks now and they are starting to pile up downstairs. He chose steak and potatoes, corn and sopaipilla cheesecake as his last home cooked meal. Then, on Friday we loaded the cars down and hit the road, so we could be there and ready to go at his move in time on Saturday.
We found his dorm and he got his keys and the unloading began! Everything went so smoothly and we were done with all the heavy lifting within an hour. Then we helped unpack and organize and made a list of the things we needed from the store. After shopping, Troy and Teague stayed at the dorm to finish the decorating and we all went to the parents snack social.

First day of school
Only one left in the house for first day of school pictures. Teague will be a junior and I am starting year 13. Things look different this year, but I think it’s going to be a great year!

Meet the Longhorns
Teague has decided to play football again and I have taken on a new position helping Lacy as a cheer coach, so Meet the Longhorns was busy!! The cheerleaders did great on their performance and Teague was all smiles. He even came over and did a stunt with Yarieli. It’s going to be a great season!

Teague’s job search
In the spring, Teague started talking about wanting to work this summer, so that is music to my ears! He is motivated and excited to become a lifeguard, like Troy. He and his friend Layne had a group interview in February. They said it went great and even though they were nervous, they feel like they have a good first impression of themselves.
Teague was hired! He has done weekends worth of training and inservice and has started picking up shifts. He is excited for school to let out so he can start working more frequently. First jobs are so important and teach so many great life skills and lessons!
