Icemageddon ‘26

The weekend we were supposed to be competing in Nationals for cheer turned into a very long weekend indoors. The large amount of rain that fell right before the temps dipped below zero gave us 5 days at home…all weekend and then 3 days home from school. We did a lot of reading and cooking and game show watching and enjoying the fire.

Troy sent pictures from Lubbock and their beautiful snow.

It looked like Pierce liked the ice and cold temps, also!

State and Nationals Cheer Competitions

State Competition was amazing! The kids knocked it out of the park! Both the prelims and the finals were done perfectly! Unfortunately the judges scored pretty hard and we ended up 8th. Not bad, but we felt we deserved higher. The weekend was filled with getting fancy for Cheesecake Factory, lots of practicing and even more celebrating!

Nationals landed right on the weekend where we got ice for 2 days and freezing temps that shut down everything for 4 days. It was a sad ending to the season, but I’m glad we were all safe and warm in our own homes when the storm hit. I’m so happy we did so well at State and that performance was our final one for the year. They did great and ended the year with such wonderful memories! The team made one last appearance at the school board meeting to be recognized for 8th in the State and to receive their patches!

Disciple Now

We had a wonderful turn out for Disciple Now! So many kids and so many leaders who opened their homes and helped with food and led small groups. I didn’t get too many pictures, but I got a few of Koby’s group since Teague was with him. We had our annual trash pick up, silent disco and then a bonfire for our night time activity and a great turn out for church Sunday morning. So thankful for what the Lord is doing in Axtell!
