Our excursion was called Pirates, Birds and Monkeys and was so much fun! I highly recommend it! We went on a little hike through the preserve and were able to see so many different types of animals. The iguanas were plentiful and very colorful.
The guide was good about pointing out even the smallest of animals...the gold spot is a frog.
We got to cross this wooden bridge suspended only by wires. I was a little scary and towards the center of the bridge it swayed a bit, but it was so neat!
On the other side of the bridge were beautiful birds flying around. They let a friendly one sit on your shoulder for pictures!
As we were sitting and waiting to move on from the birds a monkey jumped down out of the trees right where Koby and Richard were sitting and scared them! They jumped up off the bench pretty fast!
All the monkeys were so friendly, as well, and for a sunflower seed they would sit on your shoulder. They even would use you to jump from one place to another.
They warned us about the monkeys taking things from you. Mom almost lost her hat, but she won the fight!!
After the tour was over, we went down to the beach area where Richard, Amber, Koby, Kelby and Troy all decided to zip line! There were 14 lines to complete and they all said this was one of their favorite things they did the whole trip!
The kids loved the shopping and Teague especially, wanted the most obscure things. He ended up buying two wooden bowls that had lids and spoons that they put his name on. He has loved playing with them, but I never would have thought that would be what he chose to buy. This stop was so much fun with exciting things for all of us to see and do! We loved Mahogany Bay!!
