Snorkeling Excursion

On Sunday we went on an all day snorkeling excursion.  The catamaran took us out about an hour off the island to a beautiful reef and beach to explore.

We were able to snorkel or lay out on the beach or swim or just stay on the boat and relax.  There was a slide off the back of the boat that Amber and Baylee tried out.  We were at that spot for about 2 hours and then we loaded up and moved to a different spot.

Our next stop was in the middle of the ocean where they dropped the anchor and we were able to snorkel further off shore and see some bigger fish.

Beach Day

Our first day in Puerto Rico was a beach day.  We have done several cruises in the past, but the kids have never had the opportunity to just play on the beach all day.  Our house was within walking distance from the beach so by sunrise they were ready to go!  Troy and I went for a morning run and enjoyed the scenery all along the coastline.

Then we grabbed our beach toys and headed out to play.  They snorkeled and boogie boarded and played paddle ball and built sand castles...there truly is never a dull moment at the beach!  It's my favorite place in the world to be!  There was a little afternoon shower that came in so we took that opportunity to go back to the house and eat lunch and reapply the sunscreen before going back down to the beach for the rest of the afternoon.

Blake brought his dog, Dante, out to the beach to play also and the boys loved him!  And Dante loved the beach and the water!!

Teague made a friend that spoke English and Spanish so they spent a good part of the day playing, with Teague asking him how to say different words in Spanish all afternoon.  

I tried the vintage look with my grandmother's swimsuit!  I wish I had a picture of her in it as well!!

The beach is always a place I love to reflect and dream.  I loved taking some great pictures during this trip and just getting in a little quiet time with nothing but the sounds of the ocean!

Family Pictures

I am in need of a new family picture in our living room so I decided to try to get one on this trip.  Family pictures are always so stressful with so many people...coordinating outfits, getting the kids to cooperate, hoping the lighting and the weather are nice...but after it was all over I think we got a few good ones!

I also got a shot of each individual kid smiling and enjoying themselves!

My parents and Blake and Amber even participated and we got a few whole group pictures!

Puerto Rico

Our trip to Puerto Rico started with a first for the kids...their first plane ride! I made each of them a survival pack with some things they might need! We left around 4:30 am and took a shuttle to the airport when we smoothly got through security and ate some breaksfast before boarding. They seemed to love the plane ride and all the things that go along with it like the drink cart and the bathroom and the movie! Kelby also got to sit up in the cockpit as the captain snapped his picture!! 

Once we arrived, we enjoyed walking along the beach and getting settled into the Air B&B. The house was amazing! It slept 14 and had a hot tub and game room and three separate kitchen! It was the perfect set up for us!

One night we celebrated all that we could think of...Blake’s birthday, Richard’s birthday, Baylee’s graduation, Becca’s Birthday, Dad’s birthday...we sang and blew out the candle multiple times!
