Bluebonnets!!

I love that we have gotten enough rain to make the wildflowers pop up this spring!!  The bluebonnets are everywhere!  I'm sure I will take more pictures in them, but here are a few.

Teague's Birthday Party

We had Teague's 3rd birthday party out at Richard's place.  My mom, aunt and sister came, along with Richard's parents and niece.  Richard set up several different inflatables and we grilled hamburgers, ate cake, opened gifts and crushed a pinata.  It was definitely a fun filled day!!

Richard manned the grill and made us some great hamburgers for lunch!!

Richard's place has a small creek that fills with water and after all the rain we had at the beginning of the week, there was still some left in it. The boys started with just throwing things in, then it progressed to putting their feet in, and by the afternoon, they were completely submerged, clothes and all, in the muddy water! And they were having too good of a time to stop them!

I love this picture...100% pure boys

Look closely at how Teague shows his number 3 with his fingers!! So cute!!

Teague had been looking forward to the pinata the whole day, so he was ready to take a whack at it. After a few hits, he was frustrated that the candy wasn't coming out, so he let the older boys take a turn.

CANDY!!!!
Teague got lots of monster trucks, both toys and also clothes with monster trucks on them!!

I'd say he had a pretty great birthday!!

Weekends

For almost the past year, weekends have been spent with Richard and the kids. Sometimes we have a plan and other times we just hang out, but it's always fun and no two weekends are ever the same. A few weekends back, we went to watch the high school basketball regional tournament in Huntsville. While we were there we went to visit the historical site of Sam Houston. It was beautiful and neat to learn a little more about who Sam Houston was, along with taking lots of pictures.
The kitchen, which was separate from the living quarters

Last weekend, we went to Richard's cousin's one year old's birthday party.  They had snacks and opened gifts and we all watched as the birthday girl played in her cake, but the photo frame was by far the highlight for us!  There was a box with all different kinds of props inside and you could stand behind the frame and snap pictures!  We all enjoyed being silly with the props.

Teague never would cooperate with the props and frame, but I managed to snap a good picture of him anyways!

Valentine's 2012

I love Valentine's Day!  I love being able to spoil the ones I love with little gifts and extra hugs and kisses on that day, for no other reason except that I love them!  I got Troy and Teague each a new cup and a sucker and a little stuffed animal monkey, which they loved, surprisingly enough!!  They have both taken them everywhere, including school, for the last 4 days!  Soooo cute!!!  I had also stashed away some gifts for Kelby, Koby and Baylee at Richard's house prior to Valentine's Day so he was able to surprised them with a few little things that I thought they would enjoy!  I didn't get an pictures of them opening their gifts, but I did get a sweet card from Koby!

They had the best time giving their monkeys piggy back rides!
Here is the card Koby made me at school.

Since Valentine's fell on a weekday, Richard and I decided to celebrate on Friday night.  We went to an Italian restaurant and to get ice cream with some friends and then after that we exchanged gifts.  I had told him a couple of months back that I wanted us to make our gifts...build something, bake something, write something, make something, etc...just something home-made and from the heart.  I made him a deck of cards that read like a book with 52 things I loved about him.  I saw this idea and knew I had to do it!!  It turned out really cute and I think he really appreciated it!
He wrote me the sweetest love letter!  I was surprised and I loved reading it!!  And still love reading it over and over!  There is just something so special about heart felt words penned on paper by the one you love!!  It was perfect!!
