More Pictures of Baby Teague

Here are some more pictures of Baby Teague. He is such an angel already!!

I thought this was sweet of Troy seeing his new baby brother!

Teague's Birthday!

Baby Teague is here! 8lbs. 7oz. 21 inches long. Doing great. Has dad's hair.

Off to the hospital...

We are off to the hospital! I think we both got a little sleep and we are ready for this day to begin! Tanna got Troy his Big Brother shirt that he is proud to be wearing and we got him a special back pack filled with new toys and games and snacks and drinks for the day at the hospital. We keep telling him today is Teague's birthday and we are going to see him today, and he just says "OK" So I am not sure he really understands but hopefully he will have a fun day anyways. I will try to have Daniel email with stats this afternoon and get pictures up tonight! Thank you for all your prayers, I know we will need them!

Last Belly Shot

Well, here is my last belly shot. I had my last dr. appt. today and I gained another 2 pounds and my belly grew another 2cm, so the dr. thinks Teague is going to be big and I am lucky to be having a C-section. She said everything else looked great and that she would see me again on Tuesday in the OR. I have a few last minute things to get done like laundry and grocery shopping but other than that we are ready and looking forward to enjoying one last restful weekend together. I will take the laptop to the hospital to blog and will do my best to get some pics posted by Tuesday night to show off our littlest prince! Please pray for us!

Spring Break Fun

Troy and I are really enjoying Daniel being home for Spring Break. The ONLY reason I wouldn't want Teague to come this week is because we are having our last time together as a family of 3, so that is nice. Today we were going to take Troy to Kiddie Acres which is an amusement park for 10 year olds and younger, but I decided that there is no way I could walk around and enjoy myself. So we decided to find something where I could sit. Our pastor has a kayak that he said Daniel could borrow so off to the lake we went for fishing and boating. At first I sat on the shore and watched but then they wanted me to get in so we could go explore the lake, so I did. Surprisingly, I didn't tip the boat and besides needing help to get out of the boat I didn't do too bad...except for the time I hooked Daniel's arm trying to cast out Troy's fishing line...oops!! It was a little chilly at first but warmed up into such a nice day and Troy had a blast. We can't wait to go back!

37 Week Appt.

No news pretty much sums it all up. I am 60% effaced and a 1 but I am back at home still large and in pain most of the day. She did say that he is measuring big and has been sitting low for awhile so that may be the reason I am so uncomfortable, which is a under-statement. I go back a week from tomorrow for another check up so I will keep you all posted!

Finally...

Since Daniel is on Spring Break we finally got the nursery organized. It has been the storage room for about 8 months now, so it was a big job, but after a few hours we were done. My mom came into town to visit on her Spring Break so she watched Troy while we worked, which made the job go 10 times faster than if we were trying to watch him. So now everything has a place and all is in working order, so I think we are ready to go! I have a doctor's appt. tomorrow so I will keep you all posted!

Youth Weekend

Since January Daniel and I have been teaching how God created men and women different and how to embrace our differences like God does. We thought it would be fun to do a girls night and a guys night. The girls had a Chick Flick night and all came over to my house for a sleep over with chick flicks and scrapbooking our Bible covers. We had alot of fun and I really enjoyed their company!! I remember being their age just yesterday and having sleep overs! The guys had a camping night out at the church. Daniel rented GPS's and they had an orienteering game and played captured the flag. They grilled burgers and had pancakes in the morning and they even had a movie going on a drop cloth between two trees before they went to bed. The boys really enjoyed it and asked if they could do it every month! It was a fun weekend and I am glad we were able to spend some fun time with them before Teague comes and we are out for a little bit!

What a day!

Today was filled with great things! First, we went to our 35 week dr. appt. and she said everything looked good. Teague is definately a boy and although I forgot to ask how big she thought he was, I do remember her saying he had really long legs. She also said I am now dialated to 1/2 cm, which is no big deal, but she said if I get to 2 cm, she will deliver immediately. I go back the 18th to check my progress, but she did say she didn't expect me to make it to the 31st. So, I guess we need to stop procrastinating and get things taken care of around the house. Second, Daniel got a call from UMHB and they said they thought he would be a great fit in their PhD program!! He was so excited, as was I!! He will start this June and graduate in 2011! I think he is a little nervous but also very excited!! And finally, Daniel's school had a shower for us. It was great to meet alot of the people that he worked with and they were all so nice. They had cake and punch and snacks and we got a ton of gifts for Teague. And they even had a gift for Troy that he wanted to play with immediately with another little boy that was there. It was great to keep him occupied while we finish the opening the gifts! They really spoiled us!!

Baby Shower

Today was so much fun!! Family from all over came into town and friends from church all got together for Teague's Baby Shower. Becca Graves was the hostess and she really out did herself. The food was great and all the decorations were so creative and perfect for Teague. We got a ton of useful things and I had a great time visiting with everyone. We are so lucky that only after a year in Georgetown we have found life long friends here. Teague is already so loved, as are we! Thank you all for a special day!

33 Weeks

Another appointment... Today as she went to listen to Teague's heart beat she noticed he had already dropped. She decided to check me just to see what my body was doing. Fortunately, I am not dialated, but unfortunately she can feel his head already. She said that since there are no other labor precusors (high blood pressure, dialation, etc...) that I could still keep teaching my aerobics classes and she would check me again in two weeks to see if anything changed. So nothing really new except that he's lower I guess. But as we were leaving she mentioned going ahead and registering with the hospital, which I thought a little nerve racking. I mean I know we are to be registered ahead of time but it was just how she said "Everything's fine but go ahead and register with the hospital" Makes me laugh now! We had, in fact, just got done with that before we went to her office, so we are ready there. But we are not ready at home with the nursery or anything else in the house! I just hope Teague hangs out in there for awhile til we get things in order on our end!

PhD interview

Daniel went today for his interview with the University of Mary Hardin Baylor for his PhD in Education. He said the interview went really well and that he is really excited and hopes he gets accepted. The program would start in June and go through 2011 and he would finish with both a principal and superintindent certificate. They said they would let him know by March 15th on whether he got in or not. Here he is just before he left!

31 Weeks

My dr. appointment went well today. She said everything sounded good with the heart beat and that the date would be March 31st at 12pm for the c-section unless we wanted an April Fool's Day baby, which I would rather not. So we have a date, which makes it feel more official!

Gimme the Ball

Uncle Blake gave Troy a baseball glove for Christmas and his Aunt Sonja (she's really my aunt but she is way too young to called a Great Aunt) gave him a lesson in chattering on the ball field. This is for you Sonja!!

Chip Update

Well, after visiting with the Oncologist today, she didn't really give us any more information on Chip. She said he is very young and currently acting like nothing is wrong, but that is because the medicine is working well now. She said eventually the body will grow accustomed to it and we will have to up the dosage and that will be the precedure til the end. She said she has seen dogs live as long as 9 months so who knows how long we have left with him. We are just to make him as comfortable as possible from now on; spoiling him will be easy!!

Gone Fishin'

Daniel took Troy down to San Marcos to go fishing on his day off. Daniel's friend Wacey also met them there from San Antonio. After a morning and a long afternoon of fishing Troy was so tired so they let him lay down in the stroller to nap and, of course, that is when they caught the one fish for the day...and Troy missed it. So they took a picture of it to show Troy later!

7 Months

I had my 28 week check up this morning and I was expecting her to tell me, both me and the baby were big, but she actually said the opposite. Well, about Teague anayways. He is measuring a week small but she said that is normal for them to measure right on or a week bigger or smaller, so no big deal, but I was just sure I was carrying a 10 pound monster already! I now start going every two weeks, so that is exciting because it means we are closer to 40 weeks, but the actual appointments are very uneventrul so that is a bummmer!

Chip Update

On Friday, the vet called and had talked to the Oncologist and didn't sound quite as grim as before. She said the Oncologist said that Chip was very young to have pancreatic cancer and she would want to look at the pancreas to see if she could see a tumor. She also said that is could be one other thing that is treatable, but she would do the ultrasound on his pancreas first to see what those results showed us. Also, she said if it is the pancreatic cancer that she has known dogs to live years with just an adjusted diet and steriods, so that was good news too! We are calling this week to schedule his appt. with the Oncologist so I will update again when we have more information!

Yuck...

After Troy's nap he switches out of a diaper and back into his big boy pants. Today I saw him take his diaper off and say "tt" so I assumed he was off to the potty. He never called for help and then I heard to sound of urine hitting the water, so I thought I better go help him, but he wasn't in the bathroom. Now I am running through the house trying to figure where he is peeing...and there he is in the cat's drinking water. I grabbed the camera and tried to explain we don't do that through my laughter! BOYS!!

Dan's Best Friend

For the last week we have been taking Chip to the vet to see why he has been acting so sluggish and weak and has gained alot of weight, and we finally got some answers. The blood work shows low blood sugar which unfortunately only means one thing, a tumor on the pancreas that is always cancerous and never curable. The vet said this disease is really rare and she has never diagnosed it before in her career. They think he has around 8 months to 2 years left to live, which we are thankful for. We have changed his eating pattern to 5 small meals a day to keep his blood sugar up and we already see a big difference in his energy level. The vet is still running a few tests that were supposed to be back today but she called and said they are sending them to a different lab and they will call on Friday with the results of those tests. We will see what they say then, but for now we are just trying to make Chip as comfortable as possible!

Coming along...

Up until a week ago we had done nothing to prepare for Teague, and now I guess I am in a nesting phase or panic mode because I want things done immediately. We did manage to paint both Troy's and Teague's name and hang them in their rooms, but other than that we are still not ready. The nursery has become a storage room so we have a ton of clutter to clean out of there and store somewhere else on top of getting the nursery back into working order for an infant...I'm not even sure I remember what all that involves. But we have the crib together so if nothing else, Teague will have a place to sleep!
