Christmas Eve

Game night and the Cowboys in Mansfield today! The kids helped make grinch kabobs and Blake made his famous mudslides for the kids who loved helping with that, too! 

The Hollingsworth Christmas

This year we abandoned several of the Hollingsworth traditions for new ones!! We are usually with Roy and Lynette on Christmas Eve and also enjoy Mexican food, but this year we moved it up a day to accommodate Richard’s brother and we ate brisket for dinner, which is always a winner! Brian had a last minute change in work plans so he and his family were unable to make it, after all, but we still had a blast. After dinner, we played the gift swapping game, LRC and then opened presents. Lotto tickets always used to be a highlight, but the Left Right Center game is now the game of choice…lots of deals being made under the table trying not to go home empty handed. Lol! The boys received a gift that I know they will treasure forever. Roy and Lynette came across a man in Axtell that documents the stats and play by plays of every Axtell football game. They had this season printed and placed in a binder for Troy and Kelby. I know they will treasure that gift forever.

All things Christmas

As we wrap up the semester we are busy with school dress up days and parties, coffee dates and band concerts, time with Blake and the youth Christmas formal. This time of year is always so busy, but filled with so much fun, too! We have definitely earned two weeks off to rest and recover! 

Sister’s Weekend

A weekend away always does the soul good. Amber and I got a cute, little cottage in Salado and enjoyed the Christmas Stroll on Main St. We shopped and ate and hot tubbed and rested. It is so nice the to change in scenery every now and then and it usually changes my perspective. I’m really trying to slow my pace this Advent season and this weekend was perfect for doing just that!

Thanksgiving 2022

We spent Thanksgiving Day with Roy and Lynette, eating way too much and watching the Cowboy game. The next day we headed to Mansfield to see my family and eat all over again. We’ve had a great break of rest, good food and family!
