Powerlifiting season

Powerlifting meets have begun! We love Coach Cruz and Coach Hayden! They are so encouraging and really make the practices and meets so much fun! We are keeping our fingers crossed Troy’s hard work will advance him to State this year! 

Disciple Now 2023

We had a huge turn out for Disciple Now this year. We were able to do everything in Axtell except for the Saturday sermon, in which I we joined with Brandan’s church in Thornton again and it was great! Byron brought a great message and I know it hit the hearts of our kids! D-Now weekend is always a blast!

And these words keep hitting me…First Things First. I have done a daily quiet time for years now to start my day off in His Word, but I have noticed that His Word is not really first…I brush my teeth and make coffee and get situated for my quiet time, all while checking social media and emails. My mind is already distracted. If what is consumed first sinks the deepest, I want it to be His Words, so I’m fine tuning my mornings to keep first things first. 

In keeping with those words, I attended a gathering today with like minded women all chasing Jesus. We spent time taking communion, encouraging one another, and spurring each other along in our faith. There’s no better way to keep first things first than to start the New Year off seeking Him!

NYE 2022

We were happy to be selling fireworks and making money this season, since we were shut down over the 4th of July. Some of the youth, along with the boys spent 3 days helping out. It’s always fun to watch them sell and come up with challenges on who can sell the most, and hear them talk about how many seasons they’ve been here with us. They make ringing in the New Year at midnight a lot more fun! Cheers to 2023!

Christmas with the McCaigs

Our annual gathering at Neal and Judy’s was filled with gifts, games, and good food. I always look forward to Judy’s cookies, the powdered sugar covered almond shortbread cookies. They are delicious! We also played a new game called Mantis that was fun! 

Christmas Day

We spent the morning at home eating breakfast, going through our stockings and opening gifts. Then, we headed out to spend the day in Granbury for more food and gifts and family time.
