The fall is by far the busiest for sports. This year we have Troy and Teague both playing football on Thursdays, Kelby on Fridays and then cross country for Troy and Teague on Saturdays. So far everyone is enjoying all the activities and doing well in learning and growing better in their sports. It’s been a great first few months of school and we are enjoying every minute!

A sweet surprise
Project #4 is complete and has a God story to go with it.
I started this project last April when I purchased this chair. They said it would take six weeks to come in so I planned on redoing the front room in my house over the summer. I have always wanted a special quiet time space just for me. A place where I could have fresh flowers and candles, all my books, and my Bible and journal.
In June the furniture company contacted me and said it would be months to get the chair because it was on back order. I finally got the call this week that it was coming Wednesday. I was so excited to start creating my space.
At about 10am this morning our school’s secretary walked in my room with flowers! I was so surprised and had no clue who had sent flowers on this random day. As I read the card I saw they were from my good friend, Stacey. She has been a listening ear and a voice of wisdom as I have transitioned into a new district this summer. What a sweet surprise!
Over the last few months all the books I have been reading have had the same central theme: Go Big. I’ve been praying big for my community, my family, my workspace, and my relationship with the Lord. Some might not consider today’s events big, but any encounter with the living God is huge. I love that as they moved in my chair this afternoon I placed fresh flowers on the table next to it. I wasn’t the only one excited about this space. God was too and even chose to participate in bringing my vision to life all in one day. His love for me is so amazing!
I tell the boys all the time if God says do something, just obey. You never know how He will use your obedience to bless someone’s life abundantly. Thankful for Stacey for obeying. I can’t wait to get up in the morning and meet with Him!

Labor Day Weekend
The amount of positive Covid cases cause us to shut down school a day early for Labor Day weekend. So since it was a four day weekend we went to the lake to enjoy one last summer outing! The lake is always my happy place and a time to visit and relax and eat! The weekend was wonderful and restful!

Starting school
This summer flew by since I was moving schools and setting up a new classroom. I felt like I was up in my room every week trying to prepare something and then it was time for inservice. That week was fun getting to know my team and the faculty and staff at the school. Everyone was so nice and gave the warmest welcome to join the district. The first day of school finally arrived and I got to meet my class. They are all super sweet and seem to really enjoy the flexible seating model so far. The boys also started school and we now have a 7th grader and two 9th graders! We are all looking forward to a great year!

Puerto Rico
We had the most fabulous vacation in Puerto Rico. Getting there was much more difficult now due to all the Covid issues, but it all worked out. We left at 3am for the airport and spent most of the day traveling. When we arrived we settled into the house and Mom had us a welcome drink to toast to starting our vacation!
Day 1 we went to spend the day on Flamenco Beach. We enjoyed lunch and snorkeling and seeing all the tropical flowers and fruit and shells. The beach was so white and the water was the most beautiful shade of turquoise! Blake said it’s one of the top 10 beaches in the world and I can see why! After we returned home we made dinner at the house and visited on the patio.
Our house was 2 blocks from the beach so today we spent the day playing on the beach. Amber and I read our books, Troy skim boarded and took pictures of crabs, and Teague played in the sand and found a ton of new fruits to explore. In the evening we met Blake at LiT to see if for the first time up and running. We enjoyed a celebratory drink to cheers all his hard work to make it become reality!
Today we decided to let our sunburns rest and tour Old San Juan. We saw a lot of the city, toured the fort grounds and did some shopping. We ate lunch at a small place that had amazing food!! Troy even tried the red snapper and it came as a whole fish! Once we finally got home we all were exhausted so we stayed in for dinner and went to bed early.
It was a rainy beach today, but we made the best of it by going to the beach next to Blake’s second business venture Wing Shack. He has some fun specialty drinks and fabulous wings!! He had a special coconut drink that Teague had asked for and Teague brought the Guanabana juice to try with Blake. After we got home, the kids wanted to rest at the house but with Dad, but the rest of us went on back to LiT to hang out.
Today we went to church with Blake. The service was so good and I’m glad he found such a great place to plug in. We then went to the beach for a bit and ended up at LiT for dinner. We tried so much food and it all was amazing!!
On our last day, Blake and Heydi joined us for a beach day and pizza on the patio at the house. It was a relaxing way to end our trip.
