Last football game

Koby and Richard have loved football and have loved football together for as long as I’ve known them! The last football game was super emotional for them both. I loved seeing both of their hearts as they remembered the years gone by of this wonderful sport!

From Richard:

Hard to believe tonight will be the last time you strap on a helmet and we get to watch you play a game you’ve loved since you were 9. I must say that I’m proud of the effort that you have put forward to be the best player and teammate that you could be. All the extra hours we were able spend on the field, in the weight room, at camps and watching film, definitely will miss those times with you.

From coaching your teams in pee-wee to being nervous seeing you suit up for the first time on a Friday night as a skinny freshman, it’s been a journey of memories. You’ve help lead a team to the playoffs and we’ve had seasons of struggles, but through the ups and downs you’ve been a constant, always giving your best effort whether winning or losing on the scoreboard. You have been a great role model for your brothers, as well as, your teammates. Football is more than just a sport, there so many life lessons learned on the field, in weight room, in the locker room, and just doing life with your teammates. As this journey draws to an end tonight, know you have made me proud, and take these lessons you’ve learned and continue to grow into the man that God is grooming you to be. Thanks for the memories!

Love you - Dad

From Koby:

This game has taught me more about life than I ever would have imagined. When I was 9 years old I was introduced to football and since then I’ve learned  how to win, how to lose, how to get your teeth kicked in and get back up, and how to grow as a family with a group of guys that are irreplaceable. This game is full of emotions and passion and will forever hold a place in my heart that no one can budge. To every coach that has been there to mentor me through these journeys, thank you for the wisdom, the encouragement, the much needed screaming and straightening out, and the love every single one of you has showed me. To my teammates that have been nothing but brothers on and off the field. Thank you for working hard day in and day out even when it was easy to give up on a rough season. Thank you for helping me grow into who I am and pushing me to be a leader on the field. Thank you for endless memories and fun that can never diminish. You guys forever hold a special place with me. To the game of football, thank you for lessons learned, memories made, and giving me the wisdom to be a leader. Wouldn’t want to have spent my football career with any other group of men...... 2 signing off✊🏼🏈

I love that the Lord rearranged the schedule early in the season due to COVID and gave you a win on the very last game!! I’m so thankful for years upon years of watching your hard work pay off and supporting your dream and for no injuries. The Lord has covered you more than you know! What a great series finale!
