The last football season is here!! Teague will be wearing #14, which I love to see out on that field! The banners are hung and we are ready for a great season! Senior year here we come!
The season opened was against St. Augustine. They are a bigger 2A team and gave us a good challenge for a few quarters, but then we were able to pull away with the win! Teague had a great game with 3 touchdowns and a two point conversion. His teammate and relay buddy Damian tore his ACL and is out for the rest of the season. This is Teague sitting and consoling him.
Game 2 was our first home game against Mart. Mimi and Papa were able to make it and Teague had a good game. Another win for the books!
The next few games were also wins with very little competition. Then we started district. First up was Italy and we rolled past them 54-7.
Then we played Riesel which was fun since Koby coaches there now. The boys have said that Riesel talks a lot of trash talk so they are planning to put some big numbers on the board. The final score was 70-8.
Then we finally had another home game for Homecoming against Itasca. The parade and pep rally were on Wednesday and then another win on Friday night.
Then our last home game was Senior night! We escorted Teague across the track as they talked about all his accomplishments and future plans, the seniors walked the field end to end one last time and then they signed out. They won 64-14 and Teague had 4 touchdowns. It was an awesome night. Teague’s groups has never lost a game at home and is the winning-eat team ever to come through Axtell!
The last game was against Dawson and competed a perfect 10-0 season and 4 time District Champs for these guys! Now it’s off to plays-offs!
