Waco Dr. Wreck

As we headed out to run some errands for the afternoon we had no idea in a short 20 minutes we would be in a wreck. A car was in too much of a hurry and hit multiple cars as he was weaving through traffic. Troy was driving, getting in his practice hours, and Teague was in the backseat, but luckily we were all okay. Benjamin, the guy who hit us and 3 other cars, went around in tears apologizing to all of us and making sure we were all fine. We had the opportunity to pray over him and point him to Jesus. It was a crazy afternoon that may have ended Troy’s driving days, but we are thankful for the Lord’s protection.

Lake Celebrations

We spent the weekend at the lake and were able to celebrate Mom’s 70th birthday, Alicia’s 60th birthday and Father’s Day. We had a great time hanging out with family, enjoying the boat and jet skis, fishing and eating some good food!

Date Days

Richard and I have been able to sneak in a few date days even with the busyness of the summer, so far.

First, in early June, we went to the Lighthouse downtown for a chef inspired 4 course menu that was delicious!

Then, after camp, we enjoyed a 90 minute massage followed by lunch at Olive Branch. We desperately needed that rub down after all the late nights and early morning and stress that camp brings about.

Wired Youth Camp

We had to try a different camp at Latham Springs this year because we had too many kids to fit in the one we usually attend! What a great problem to have!! We weren’t too sure if the kids would like the change, but they loved it! A&M and DBU had college students helping with Rec and also Family Groups and the kids loved getting to meet to people and interact with other groups. Unfortunately, Troy got sick on the first night and ended up leaving and Teague got sick during his Colorado trip and never was able to join us, so Kelby was the lone camper. We had a blast with all the kids and I love getting to know all of them better throughout the week. We had several make decisions to follow Christ so ultimately, that is what it’s all about!

My only picture of Troy before he went home.

We couldn’t do it without help from our leaders!

I had the high school girls pick a junior high girl and pray over her the week before we left and create a prayer page of the verses or words of encouragement they heard. It was such a special time when they got to share it with them. I am so proud of how they were leaders this week!

Air It Out Football Camp

Troy and Kelby were able to attend Air It Out this year with a ton of friends! I think having some friends there made the 109 degree heat a little more bearable. They were troopers and came out both days and gave it their all! I bet football looks great this coming season due to all the work they have put in!
