Youth Pool Party

We had a Pool Party for our youth group yesterday and had a great turn out. I think there were around 25 kids there and most of them were visitors so that was wonderful! Troy had a blast in the water and on the trampoline. He loves to jump!! Teague just slept and ate and slept so he wasn't much trouble at all. We grilled hot dogs and just hung out all afternoon.

The boys...what handsome smiles they both have!!

8 weeks

Teague was 8 weeks old yesterday! Here are some of his latest tricks...

*He can smile in reaction to my face
*He has rolled from his tummy to his back a few times
*He is starting to squeal
*He has adopted a 5-9-1 o'clock feeding schedule that is nice and predictable!!

He is a sweet baby and he is very easy to please, so that makes things a lot easier in having to care for Troy too! His hair is still dark but slowly falling out so there is not as much of it, and his eyes are a deep blue. I can't wait to see what month number 3 has in store for us.

I love his double chin!

Dentist Visit

Troy had his first trip to the dentist for a check up and teeth cleaning. The pediatric dentist's office was so great. The waiting room had a chalk board with each patients name on it for the day! As the appt. progressed and he finished each part he got a prize. He got a sticker after they weighed and measured him, a tattoo after the x-rays, a balloon after the cleaning and a token for a prize in the machine after the whole visit was over. It felt like we had left a birthday party! He really did well and the dentist was so nice and patient. My favorite part was the flat screen TV over the chair that was playing cartoons for him to watch. They really went to alot of effort in making the dentist experience a positive one!

6 Weeks old

Teague is now 6 weeks old and at this point Troy got a whole lot easier as a baby. The last 3 nights I have gotten up 4 times a night instead of once so I don't know what is going on with him. My first guess is his 6 week growth spurt, but who knows. My Grandma and my Aunt Sonja came to see the boys on Monday. They were a big help while I ran a few errands and Sonja and Troy played every game he had and then made up a few new ones. I think he is still tired from all the play time he got with her. As far as Teague's accomplishments...
* He started cooing and making cute noises other than crying
* He was only getting up once to feed during the night
* He smiles on occasion
* He can hold his head up
Not huge tasks, but for an infant they are stepping stones to becoming a baby and not an infant anymore. Teague has a sweet disposition overall and I see him watch Daniel and Troy rough house and I wonder if he is thinking..."I wish I could play too!"

Dedication

Today we had Teague dedicated to the church. The pastor gave him a letter to be opened on the day that he becomes of follower of Christ so that was neat. For Mother's Day, Troy and Teague got me a purse that I had been wanting. So far we have had a restful afternoon which has been nice. For dinner tonight I am making a roast with vegetables and biscuits and applesauce cheesecake for dessert. I hope everything turns out edible!

Here Teague is in the Heaven Sent Gown that Tara, Tanna, Laura, and I have all gotten our kids dedicated in since Troy...It's in the mail to you next Tara!!

Therapy

Today I got some much needed therapy. I love painting pottery so today I took about 2 hours to go alone and just paint. It was alot of fun and a great stress relief. While I was gone, Daniel had a hair cut appt. and asked if he had to take both boys with him and how he was going to do it. With little sympathy, I said I do it all week long, you'll manage! And they did fine. When I got home this is what I found...

Here is Teague's first smile...not that he knows what he is doing, but I love seeing what his smile looks like!
