Cheer

The cheer competition squad needed a few guys to join them this year to add some noise and muscle with the flags. Teague and two of his friends were the lucky guys picked to join. At first Teague wasn’t too sure about it, but as the weeks have gone on he seems to really enjoy it. They have three competitions in December and January so I’m excited to see all their hard work pay off!

The competitions were a success! The first one was in Dallas and on a Saturday so we were able to go and support them! The team did so well and the guys had a blast! From watching the other teams so riding scooters in downtown Dallas to eating dinner right in the middle of a Santa convention…great memories were made. They received 4th place and the Best use of props award.

The second competition was a three day overnight trip I. Fort Worth. I was able to join in as a van driver when the other sponsor couldn’t attend so that was a lot of fun. We enjoyed Sundance Square and the Cheesecake Factory the night before. Competition day was crazy hectic but despite a few mistakes they made finals!! Then placed 12th in the state! What an accomplishment!

The last competition was Nationals in Dallas. The whole weekend was spent in Dallas and by Sunday night they were exhausted!! They performed Saturday and Sunday and ended up 4th. They had a great competition season and Teague is already looking forward to next year and how he can grow in his stunting skills. What a great opportunity he has been given and I’m glad he jumped on it. Such fun memories!

Cliff is 50

Mom planned the perfect 50th birthday party for Cliff. Everything was workout themed with a tattoo parlor on the side. She even had a plank challenge with prizes for the top three winners! Happy birthday, Cliff! We had fun celebrating you!

D-Now 2025

This year we decided to try to host our own Disciple Now and stay in Axtell. Although we love going to Thornton and joining Brandan’s group every year, we wanted to see if we could include more families by staying in Axtell and hosting a community wide Sunday service. We had a great speaker from Harris Creek that joined us for the weekend and so many parent volunteers from the community. The whole weekend was so great and it was amazing to see all those that came to Sunday morning worship. We still aren’t sure what “church” looks like in Axtell, but there is a movement in the youth so we will continue to pour into them and watch God continue to work!

Consecration

Antioch had an open sanctuary week where we could go and spend some time in prayer over the new year. Koby has been attending Antioch so we invited him to join us. They had a packet that helped guide us through prayer and journaling and communion. It was a great way to stop and reflect on last year but also assess and pray about the upcoming year. Afterwards we went to dinner and it sounded like the boys all had good take aways from the evening.
