The powerlifting season has begun! The team has grown quite a bit over the years and it’s so fun to watch them compete and place in their different weight classes.
Regionals was held in West and the boys competed well. After years of being so close to State Troy finally made it. He placed 2nd and will be going to Abilene in a few weeks. Teague place 3rd in his weight class and lifted well, too. His judges seemed a bit more picky, but sometimes that happens. I have no doubt we will be back at State with Teague in a few years.
Troy headed to State in Abilene. They stayed overnight to get checked in and weighed-in and went to dinner and then Saturday morning he competed. He did great on his squat and bench press and decided only to do 1 lift of the deadlift to save his hamstring that has been bothering him. Even with only his opener he placed 9th in the State! I’m so proud of his hard work to get there after many years of missing it and I hope he enjoyed the whole experience!
