Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving was so eventful! Along with getting to see all my family, Brylee was born and I was able to even stay an extra week to spend more time with her and Tanna. This year was the first year Troy was able to really play with with the boys so of course he was out there trying to play guns. Luckily Uncle Blake helped him out but it didn't take him long to figure out how to shoot and the object of the game was not to get shot! He would even yell RELOAD and go collect the darts to refill his gun! He also got into reading all the ads in the newspaper, Papa gave him the toy section and he saw Thomas the train and Elmo right off the bat and pointed it out to us! Guess we know what he wants for Christmas! We really had a great time over the holidays and I was glad not to be rushed in having to get back home!

I think the gun is bigger than Troy!

Brylee is here!

After 9 long months of waiting to meet Brylee, she is finally here. Tanna's delivery went so smoothly. Brylee was 6 lbs, 8 oz and 19 inches long. She is very alert and bright eyed for a newborn! Tanna is still in disbelief that she is really a part of their family! She just stares at her and Brylee stares right back! She is such a gorgeous baby and I know Tanna is anxious to get her home! We love you Brylee!

More news...

It's a Boy | It's a Girl | I'm Expecting Orkut Graphics

At our last appointment the dr. said that she is now 90% sure we are having a little boy! I was shocked! First, she looked at a few facial things and then said that the legs were just perfect for seeing the gender, so she skipped down there and first said, "your husband is a boy making machine"...I just laughed and thought she was seeing the umbilical cord or something, and then she said, "well at least you guys know you make great looking boys!" I then knew she saw something more than just the cord. She proceeded on with the heart and facial features which she said were perfect so we are happy to just have a healthy baby, no matter what the gender. We go back the end of January to look again, so I pray I am not blogging another change!!

We have had our boy named picked out for a while, so his name will be Teague James. We, of course, wanted to stick with a T for the first name and James is after Daniel's dad! Both Troy and Teague's middle names are biblical, so my boys will no doubt be strong men of God!

San Antonio 1/2 Marathon

Daniel and his sister, Audrey, ran in the San Antonio Rock 'n Roll 1/2 marathon. They finished and had a great time! We even got to enjoy the day before feeding the ducks and taking Troy to the park.

Here they are the day before the race!
Here they are during the race at mile 6!

And here they are at the finish with their medals!!

Birthday Fun

Troy's birthday party turned out great! All the family came and even Christian, his friend from the apartments. We borrowed a bounce house from the church and that was a great hit with both boys! He got a ton of new toys and some clothes and jackets and new books to read. Nana made a football cake so that went great with the sports theme. It didn't take Troy long to figure out how to open gifts, and sometimes he thought the tissue paper was the gift! After cake and ice cream and presents he was so tired! It was a great birthday and we are so thankful for all the people who love Troy and helped make his day so special!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to Sweet Berry Farms in Marble Falls on Monday since Daniel had the day off. There was so much to do and I think Troy really had a good time. There were a ton of photo spots and lots of pumpkins and gourds to chose from. There was also pony rides, face painting, a maze in the hay field, goats to feed and a hay ride. We let him pick out a few pumpkins to take home for his room and spent the rest of the time trying to get a few good pictures. Although it was a little overcast and rainy it was worth the drive out there!

Baby Arlitt Update

I had my monthly check up with my doctor today and it was pretty uneverntful, which is a blessing. She just wanted to check my weight and my blood pressure and listen for the heart rate. It was a strong 160 bpm, so that is good. I am only wearing sweat pants or dresses now, and I am looking forward to the cooler weather, especially as I get bigger in the months to come!

5 Year Anniversary

This weekend Daniel celebrated our anniversary. We have always followed the traditional gift for each year...paper, leather, wood, etc... and for 5 years it was fruit or flowers. Since neither keep we decided to try to do something that would last. We decided to go to the pottery studio and paint each other something that had fruit or flowers on it. It was alot of fun!! I chose a flower and a cabinet knob with grapes on it and Daniel chose a coffee mug that I painted a football on in the grass, that was as close to a flower as I could think of! Afterwards we went to dinner and then for dessert and coffee. It was great to be able to spend time alone with each other, enjoying things we always used to do even when we were dating!

10 Year Reunion

Our 10 year high school reunion was last weekend! It was so much fun to see everyone again and attempt to catch up on 10 years gone by. They had the year book at the entrance that I showed Daniel my senior picture, and they had the panoramic picture hung so you could find yourself again, and they showed our Senior Video, which was a great idea, and everyone really got into that! It was neat to see old friends and faces again and I can't wait for the next one!! :)

First Dr. appt.

We went to see the baby for the first time on Wednesday. The doctor pointed out the head which is the biggest part of it's body right now and where the legs and arms will start growing from, and the flash of the heart beat, which is the most important thing. It's only 2 cm big now so we really couldn't see much just the heart beat to let us know everything is good so far! Our next appt. will be the end of Sept. to take a closer look at the baby! I'll keep you all posted!

News...

due in march

Yes, we are expecting again!! Troy is going to be a big brother, and I'm sure if he understood what that meant he would be as excited as we are! I had to be pretty sneaky in telling Daniel so I decided to order a cookie cake and surprise him at our church small group with it. It took him a second but he was so surprised. For the rest of the family I made Troy a Big Bro shirt to wear. He looked so cute and wore it with pride like he knew what it meant!

Of course, Troy had to stick his fingers in the icing!!

Open Gym

Since Troy has been jumping off things and doing twists and turns and flips on the couch we thought he would have fun at gymnastics. After looking around we found an open gym class every Thursday for kids walking to 5, for an hour for only $6, come and go as you please. So we went to try it out. Troy loved it and so did Daniel and I. He was running around trying the balance beam, the trampoline, sliding down the slides, swinging on the bars; he was so tired after that hour he went straight to sleep when we got home. We will definately being going back next week!

Ft. Worth Zoo

Over the Fourth of July weekend we took Troy to the Ft. Worth Zoo with Mimi and Papa. We got there early so it would still be cool and hopefully the animals would be out! We saw the monkeys first and they put on such a great show that Troy didn't want to leave that exhibit. He also was able to hear the male and female lions both roar. At first he really liked it, but then he quickly got scared and started to cry so we took him away. He got up close (with glass in between) with a white tiger and a huge gorilla! In the aviary we bought a birdseed stick for him to hold and the birds came right up to eat it! This was his second favorite place! I don't know who had more fun him or us!

Here we are on a Kamodo Dragon

Here is Papa and Troy at the alligator exhibit.

A long awaited visit

After 2 years and 4 months we are finally all together again! We finally got to meet Adaya and Tara got to meet Caleb and Troy. It was so neat to see all the kids together and at different stages! Hunter who is still in the womb was busy growing, Caleb at 3 months was eating and sleeping, Adaya at 7 months was laughing and playing but still able to be left in one spot, and Troy at 21 months was into everything and wouldn't sit still for even a moment. It was such a fun visit and was hard to say good-bye again!

Troy is making his most handsome face to impress Adaya!

All three kids trying to pose for a picture!

Everyone with their sun hats ready for the pool!
